Ammon News - Hebrew media reported that the Shin Bet arrested two Israelis recruited by the Islamic Jihad Movement to smuggle weapons to the West Bank on the Jordan border.

The two Israeli Arabs, who live in Tulkarm, were arrested after their involvement in smuggling firearms and explosives on the Jordanian border last August, according to Ynet news.

On August 3, the two involved were caught smuggling firearms and explosives at the Jordanian border, with four handguns and four explosive devices found in their possession, a photo of the devices showed that the explosive devices were MON-50 anti-personnel mines (similar to a Claymore mine) produced in Russia and Bulgaria. It is unclear where the weapons were being sourced from, the Jerusalem Post newspaper added.

As part of an investigation by the Shin Bet and police, it was revealed that the two had been recruited by operatives in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the Jenin refugee camp to smuggle weapons.

The North District Attorney's Office submitted to the District Court in Nazareth an indictment against the two for acting or dealing in weapons according to the Law on Combating Terrorism, importing and transporting weapons, and obstruction of justice, Ynet news said.
