Ammon News - Minister of Social Development, Wafaa Bani Mustafa, on Sunday said associations are a "key" partner for the ministry's field operations to provide services to the most vulnerable groups, adding that concerted efforts with partner institutions contribute to providing the "best" care services.

Bani Mustafa made the remarks during signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Italian Hospital and Caritas Jordan to expand the social welfare services provided by the ministry's Juvenile and Family Protection Department.

Bani Mustafa said the ministry provides its services to needy groups, as part of the care efforts provided to beneficiaries in all areas, primarily health and psychological aspects for underprivileged people, stressing that psychological counseling receives attention of the ministry's shelter centers.

The minister noted 1,169 juveniles entered education and rehabilitation centers from the beginning of 2023 until end of last July and 1,170 inmates left, while 256 beneficiaries entered social care facilities, of whom 122 were discharged in the same period.

According to a ministry statement, the memo aims to support the ministry's efforts to provide the "best" social care services to beneficiaries.

The memo, which was signed at the ministry's headquarters, aims to implement activities for target beneficiaries and provide social, medical and psychological care services, based on needs of the beneficiary age groups.

Under the MoU, training workshops will be held to build worker capabilities on first aid and drug storing processes.
