20-08-2023 10:35 AM

Ammon News - Four Palestinian citizens sustained injuries by Israeli gunfire last night during confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces that raided the city and refugee camp of Tulkarm, in the north of the occupied West Bank.

Local sources told WAFA that a young man was shot in the face with live ammunition, another suffered shrapnel wounds to the hand, while two others were run over by an Israeli military jeep while riding a motorcycle. The injured were subsequently rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Confrontations erupted in the Tulkarm refugee camp after the Israeli occupation forces invaded it, firing live ammunition, stun grenades, and tear gas canisters. Israeli occupation's sniper units were positioned in the vicinity and entrances of the camp. However, no arrests were reported during the Israeli attack.

The incident reflects the ongoing tensions in the occupied territories as Israeli occupation forces continue to raid cities, villages and refugee camps almost on a daily basis. These raids have become all too common in the region and often result in injuries and casualties on the Palestinian side.

International human rights organizations have repeatedly raised concerns about the use of live ammunition and excessive force against Palestinian civilians by the Israeli occupation forces, emphasizing the importance of upholding human rights and international law.
