Ammon News - With a glimmer of respite from the blistering heat, Monday brings a slight decrease in temperatures, although the kingdom remains engulfed in scorching weather across all its regions. The arid desert areas are expected to experience intermittent dust, accompanied by the presence of clouds at different heights, meteorologists forecast.

In the southern part of the kingdom, there is a possibility of brief and light rain showers, occasionally accompanied by thunder. The winds, predominantly originating from the southeast, will maintain a moderate speed but may intermittently grow stronger, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

As challenging weather conditions persist, the national weather service issued a warning against the hazards associated with reduced visibility due to dust in multiple areas, especially in the Badia, advising people to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and to refrain from leaving children and the elderly unattended in enclosed vehicles.

Additionally, it urged individuals to exercise caution and avoid starting fires in forested and grassy areas to prevent the outbreak of wildfires, emphasizing the importance of not leaving flammable substances such as sanitizers and perfumes inside vehicles.

As per the latest weather report, a decline in temperatures is anticipated for Tuesday, while the country remains engulfed in a persistent heatwave. The atmosphere will be hot over the highlands and plains, intensifying to extremely high levels in the desert, the Jordan Valleys, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Clouds will make their appearance at medium and high altitudes, adding a touch of variety to the sky.

Moderate-speed northwesterly winds will intermittently gain strength, occasionally stirring up dust, particularly in the Badia regions.

Throughout Wednesday and Thursday, the weather will continue to be hot over mountainous areas and plains, while reaching scorching temperatures in the desert, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Clouds are expected to appear at medium and high altitudes, offering some relief from the relentless heat.

Moderate-speed northwesterly winds will persist, occasionally strengthening, particularly in the desert regions.

Today’s peak temperatures will be between 40 and 42 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 26C or even 24C in the southern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will have scorching weather, with highs of 44C and lows of 29C.
