Ammon News - Jordan is forecast to experience a subtle escalation in its temperature regime on Thursday, surpassing the customary climatic norms for this time of the year. The prevailing conditions denote a relative increment in thermal levels across the majority of the country, while specific locales like the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will encounter a more pronounced elevation in mercury levels.

In light of the evolving atmospheric dynamics, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) has issued advisories apprising the populace of the potential hazards associated with direct sun exposure, particularly during the zenith hours.

On Friday, the JMD predicted a gradual influence of a dry and hot air mass originating from the Arabian Peninsula. This is expected to result in a slight increase in temperatures, leading to hot weather conditions across most areas of Jordan. Notably, the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba are expected to experience a marked intensification in thermal signatures. The forecast also indicated the likelihood of the presence of high-altitude cloud cover and intermittent moderate winds, primarily shifting between northeasterly and northwesterly directions.

As the weekend concludes, the impact of the prevailing hot and dry air mass is anticipated to intensify further. Jordan is poised to witness a progressive rise in temperatures, reaching levels approximately 8-9 degrees Celsius above the typical seasonal averages for this period. This surge in temperature is expected to translate to hot conditions in high mountainous areas, while other regions are projected to experience exceptionally high temperatures.

Continuing into Sunday, the weather pattern is expected to maintain scorching temperatures in high mountainous areas and exceedingly high temperatures in other regions.

Today’s peak temperatures will be between 35 and 33 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 22C or even 20C in the southern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will have scorching weather, with highs of 42C and lows of 29C.
