Ammon News - Intra-regional trade between Jordan and Egypt during the January-May period of the current year amounted to approximately JD252 million, according to official figures.
However, foreign trade data issued by the Department of Statistics (DoF) indicated that the national exports to Egypt in the first five months of 2023 dropped to reach nearly JD45 million, compared to about JD 66 million for the same period last year.
The Kingdom experienced a decline in the value of its imports from Egypt, reaching around JD207 million by the end of May, compared to JD 236 million in the previous year.
Additionally, the data revealed that the trade balance deficit between Jordan and Egypt stood at JD162 million until the end of May this year against JD170 million during the same period last year.
