Ammon News - US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held talks over the phone on Monday for the first time in four months, focusing on the controversial Israeli judicial overhaul.
The talks took place shortly before the start of voting in the Constitutional Committee of the Knesset on the abolition of the controversial "reasonable cause" law, which limits the powers of the Israeli Supreme Court.
The law is expected to see approval within a week, according to Yedioth Ahronoth.
The conversation between Biden and Netanyahu focused on the issue of promoting the judicial amendments and came before President Isaac Herzog left for Washington tonight to meet with Biden.
