Tourism minister, Saudi counterpart discuss joint cooperation

Ammon News - Minister of Tourism, Makram Qaisi, on Wednesday discussed with his Saudi counterpart, Ahmed Khatib, ways to enhance joint cooperation and relations in the tourism field and stimulate mutual tourist traffic.

Talks came on the sidelines of the 49th UNWTO Regional Commission for the Middle East and the "Medical and Wellness Tourism" Conference, which was held at the Dead Sea.

The two ministers discussed tourism issues, primarily ways to strengthen memorandums of understanding to meet the two countries' aspirations, exchange expertise in the training fields, mull plans to launch joint tourist programs, as well as mutual tourism promotion campaigns.

During the meeting, Qaisi stressed the two countries' " deep-rooted, solid and brotherly" relations in various fields, pointing to importance of intensifying joint efforts in the tourist fields and mutual action to advance Jordanian-Saudi tourism sector.

For his part, Khatib conveyed greetings of Custodian of Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Highness Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II.

At the end of the meeting, the two ministers exchanged souvenirs.
