Exports of electric power up to more than 191k gigawatt, NEPCO says

Ammon News - Preliminary findings from the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) have revealed a notable upswing in purchased electric power during the preceding year of 2022, with a recorded figure of 20,763.2 gigawatt-hours compared to 19,618.8 gigawatt-hours in 2021.

Further analysis based on the data published on the company's official website indicated a rise in the quantity of electricity sold, escalating from 19,281 gigawatt-hours in 2021 to 20,446.2 gigawatt-hours in the preceding year, 2022.

Conversely, the importation of electric power experienced a decline from 395 gigawatt-hours in 2021 to 262.5 gigawatt-hours in 2022. In contrast, the export of electric power witnessed an increase from 173 gigawatt-hours in 2021 to 191.5 gigawatt-hours in 2022.

According to the company's data, losses in the electrical transmission network demonstrated a decrease from 1.72% in 2021 to 1.53% in 2022.

In terms of the lengths of transmission lines measuring 132 kV and above, an incremental growth was observed from 5,874 circuit kilometers in 2021 to 5,879 circuit kilometers in 2022. The capacity of the primary transformation stations reached 14,969 MVA.

Based on available data, the maximum load on the electrical system during the previous year peaked at 4,010 megawatts, whereas the maximum load recorded in 2021 was 3,770 megawatts.
