Ammon News - Over the weekend, civil defense personnel dealt with 461 fires of dry grasses, trees and agricultural crops.

First Lt. Mohammad Khatatbeh of the Civil Defense Directorate told Amen FM that one of the most prominent fires was on 100 acres of dry grasses, trees and agricultural crops in Balama area in Mafraq governorate, where fire was extinguished without human injuries.

Khatatbeh pointed out that the directorate calls on citizens not to throw cigarette butts on the edges of roads and lands, and to burn empty lands far from trees and agriculture crops when weeding.

He called on citizens to put out cooking fires before leaving any area, and to alert children to avoid tracking their curiosity and lighting fires.
