King chairs Jordan's delegation to the Arab summit in Jeddah

Ammon News - The thirty-second ordinary Arab summit is set to kick off on Friday in the Saudi city of Jeddah.

His Majesty King Abdullah will preside over the Jordanian delegation to the summit, with the participation of leaders and heads of delegations from Arab countries, who began arriving on Thursday at King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah.

The Palestinian cause will top the summit's agenda in addition to the situation in Sudan, the way forward following Syria's return to the Arab league after a 12 years of absence, and relations with neighboring countries.

Observers are looking forward to the summit as a historic opportunity to build bridges amid a consensual atmosphere towards serving the crucial Arab causes, supporting efforts to protect Arab national security, and making tangible progress on a number of issues of common Arab concern internally and regionally.

They also look optimistically at the summit's endeavors aimed at supporting the efforts of Arab action in the economic fields through a number of agreements and common understandings.

In addition to Arab leaders, a number of regional and international officials will attend the summit.
