Ammon News - The Russian ambassador to Jordan, Gleb Desyatnikov, confirmed that Russia believes that the dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Iran will reflect positively on other aspects of regional politics, noting that this concerns above all the Syrian file and bilateral relations between Amman and Tehran.

Desyatnikov said, in an interview with Sputnik, about the reflection of the Saudi-Iranian dialogue under Chinese auspices on the Jordanian-Syrian relations: "Undoubtedly, we look forward to the positive effect of the dialogue arrangement between Saudi Arabia and Iran, to the maximum extent possible, on other aspects of regional politics, especially the Syrian file and the bilateral relations between Amman and Tehran."

"I am aware of the mutual interest in this from Jordan and Iran," adding that "this will contribute to relaunching relations between the two capitals, Amman and Tehran, intensifying political dialogue and increasing trade exchange", Desyatnikov said, adding that: "Therefore, we are optimistic about Jordanian-Iranian and Jordanian-Syrian cooperation."

He pointed out Moscow's vision that "the normalization of relations between Riyadh and Tehran with Chinese mediation is one of the most positive events that the Middle East has witnessed in recent times."

With regard to Russian-Jordanian cooperation in the southern Syrian file, Desyatnikov said, "The situation in southern Syria is still of interest to Moscow and Amman, and it is one of the most important points of the bilateral agenda."

Desyatnikov described Syria's return to the Arab League as "a necessary matter for a long time, as the Middle East needs more than ever cohesion, de-escalation, and the establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation between all concerned regional capitals."
