Ammon News - U.S. Embassy in Jordan hosted Maura Reynolds, Deputy Editor for POLITICO (U.S. media outlet) yesterday to discuss current media trends. The event included a diverse group of Jordanian journalists, think tanks, and social media influencers who engaged in a lively dialogue focused on the importance of accurate, objective journalism in the 21st century. Participants shared their perspectives on the challenges facing the region, ways in which disinformation campaigns can be countered and the need for innovative approaches to journalism in the digital age.

At the U.S. Embassy, we believe that an independent and objective media is crucial for the functioning of a healthy democracy. We were proud to facilitate this important dialogue and look forward to continuing to engage with our partners in Jordan on these critical issues.
