Shortly after his release, the Lower House of Parliament voted to strip MP Emad Adwan of immunity from prosecution. House Speaker Ahmad Safadi told reporters following a closed House session that the move to strip Adwan of parliamentary immunity followed a request by the SSC which was submitted to the legislature by the government.
