Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi on Thursday continued a series of phone calls to his European counterparts to inform them of the outcomes of the Amman Consultative Meeting on Syria and the next steps within the framework of the Arab political track, launched during the meeting, to gradually reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis.

In each phone call, Safadi stressed the importance of the consensus, which came as a result of the meeting, adding that the implementation of these outcomes would make progress toward finding a solution to the crisis that addresses its humanitarian, security and political consequences.

Safadi and his counterparts discussed future prospects for efforts to resolve the crisis and the necessary steps to address key issues using a step-by-step methodology in line with Security Council Resolution 2254, which includes the delivery of humanitarian aid to Syrians, the voluntary return of refugees, the fight against terrorism and addressing drug smuggling as a stepping stone to tackling more comprehensive security and political issues.

Safadi made phone calls to Annalena Baerbock, Finland's Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto, Malta's Foreign Minister Ian Borg and Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias.

The ministers stressed the importance of the efforts exerted to gradually resolve the Syrian crisis and put an end to all of its consequences.
