The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Sinan Majali, said that the meeting comes as a continuation of the ministerial "consultative" meeting hosted by Saudi Arabia in Jeddah on April 14,2023, to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis with the participation of representatives of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, Jordan, Egypt and Iraq.

Jordan will host on Monday a meeting of the foreign ministers of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Egypt with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria.
