Ammon News - Jordan's Health Minister, Firas Hawari, Monday said Jordan is "committed to global efforts to catch up and compensate for the missed progress" for vaccination by restoring coverage rates and covering children who missed vaccination and strengthening primary health care.

On World Vaccination Week 2023, World Health Organisation (WHO) said the organisation is working with its countries to protect people, especially children, from vaccine-preventable diseases, according a WHO statement.

WHO representative in Jordan, Dr Jamila Raabi, said: "As the World Health Organisation celebrates the 75th anniversary of its founding, we recall the public health successes that have led to an improvement in the quality of life during the past seven decades, most notably the achievements of the Expanded Programme for Vaccination, which saved millions of lives worldwide and continues to do so to this day."
