Ammon News - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate, in cooperation with the Interior Ministry, the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, the General Intelligence Department, and the National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM), formed a joint crisis cell to follow up on conditions of Jordanian citizens residing in Sudan.
A statement issued on Thursday by the Foreign Ministry confirmed that the cell aims to discuss plans, mechanisms, and procedures that would preserve the security and safety of Jordanians, in light of the ongoing security developments, the lack of safe passages for their movement, and the continued closure of airspace and border crossings in Sudan.
The ministry also affirmed its constant contact with Jordanians in Sudan, through the Jordanian embassy in Khartoum, to check on their conditions and provide them with all possible assistance, urging them to take the utmost care and caution, stay away from areas of tension, and fill out the electronic form that was circulated by the Kingdom's embassy in Khartoum to update their data.
Additionally, the Foreign Ministry renewed its call on the Jordanians in Sudan to contact the Jordanian embassy in case of need of assistance on the embassy hotline number 00249901699416 or 00249915491874; or the Operations Center Unit in the ministry at the number 00962795497777; or email at op.ctr@fm.gov.jo.
