Ammon News - Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply detected 514 foodstuff and grocery violations since beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, including 97 irregularities related to non-compliance with the price ceilings set for poultry products.
In a statement on Sunday, Market Control Directorate Head, Wael Kloub, said the ministry's monitoring teams carried out 583 field tours on local markets, including about 8,373 groceries in various governorates, to follow up on compliance with the market-governing legislationS.
Kloub also noted monitoring efforts were intensified over fresh poultry prices, and take measures against violators of the set price caps.
He affirmed continued intensive monitoring on markets during morning and evening monitoring tours, which run until 2:am to monitor garment and desserts shops, and foodstuff sales.
