Budaiwi said in a statement that there is a "need" to address hate speech and violence and promote the values of tolerance and human coexistence as part of efforts to reduce escalation and and instability in the region caused by the Israeli "occupation" forces. He affirmed the GCC's "firm" support for the "Palestinian cause" and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
