Ammon News - A shipment of medical equipment for health clinics in Ajloun, Tafileh, and Mafraq was delivered to the Ministry of Health by the Care project, a €22-million EU-funded initiative by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

Director of the ministry's Primary Health Care Department Riyadh Shayyab said the new medical equipment would greatly improve primary health services by allowing patients to get treatment more quickly and at a higher quality.

Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Jordan Patrick Lambrechts emphasized the project's positive impact on citizen well-being, noting that providing new medical equipment to the Ministry of Health confirms EU's commitment to improving the quality of public health services and making healthcare accessible to all.

Santiago Moran, director of the AECID office, emphasized the importance of supplying primary healthcare services in Jordan with the necessary medical equipment, explaining that the initiative is a collaboration between governments with the goal of bolstering Jordan's health sector capacities with EU funding through Spanish cooperation.

The 3-year "Care" project, funded by the EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian crisis, aims to upgrade primary healthcare services, provide equipment, devices and systems, and build the capacity of health workers.

It was also launched to combat and manage non-communicable diseases (NCDs) through primary healthcare services in the Mafraq, Ajloun, and Tafileh governorates.
