Ammon News - Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Secretary-General Mamoun Deibi discussed with a delegation from Iraqi Kurdistan on Tuesday ways and means of enhancing cooperation in education and health fields.
During the meeting, Deibi stressed the deep-rooted ties with the Kurdistan Region, pointing to expertise offered by the Jordanian Nursing Council and higher education institutions that need to be capitalized on.
The two sides went over problems facing the health and education sectors in Kurdistan, including a nursing staff shortage and lack of college bridge program regulatory legislation.
They also tackled the possibility that one of Jordan's universities with medical majors open a branch in Kurdistan.
For their part, the delegation said the Kurdistan region, in cooperation with Jordanian universities, seeks to send diploma holders in its health sector to bridge programs and nursing and medical staff for training in Jordan.
