JAF sends team to Jerusalem to investigate remains believed to belong to Jordanian soldiers

Ammon News - The Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) - Arab Army said Wednesday that it is, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, following on news that have been circulated on discovering the remains of 15 people believed to belong to Jordanian soldiers in Jerusalem.

The soldiers were reportedly martyred in the town of "Hanina al-Tehta" northern Jerusalem during the June 1967 war, according to senior JAF source.

The source said a military task force on Wednesday was sent, in coordination with concerned authorities, to conduct the necessary investigations to examine the remains.

The source added that it is too early to unveil the remains identity due to technical and medical reasons that require more laboratory tests.

The results of any tests or efforts to identify these remains will be announced later, the source concluded.
