Ammon News - Energy expert Hashem Akel revealed that the demand for Kerosene has increased to 8 times, after the royal directives to freeze the tax on kerosene during winter, amounting to 16.5 piastres / liter.
In a statement to Ammon, Akel said that the demand for kerosene rose from 90,000 liters per day "before the tax was frozen", to 800,000 liters on Tuesday, the first day of selling at the reduced price, more than 8 times.
His Majesty King Abdullah II directed the government to freeze the tax on kerosene during the winter season, in order to ease the burden on families with limited income.
The price of kerosene in the local market decreased to 62 piasters per liter, after the tax was frozen, as the Fuel Pricing Committee priced kerosene at 78.5 piasters per liter this month.
