Ammon News - The oil derivatives pricing committee decided Saturday to reduce the prices of diesel, kerosene and gasoline of both octane grades for the month of January.
Under the decision, the price of diesel was slashed by JD0.075 to JD0.820 per liter, instead of JD0.895, and the price of kerosene also went down by JD0.075 to JD0.785 per liter, instead of JD0.860.
The committee, which meets on monthly basis to review the selling prices of oil derivatives, said the new prices reflect average global crude rates during the month of December.
When applying the price equation for both octane grades of gasoline (90 and 95) according to global prices, the committee found they were down JD0.020 and JD0.030 respectively. Therefore, the selling price of 90-octane gasoline in January becomes JD0.9 per liter. Instead of JD0.92 and the price of 95-octane gasoline will be JD1.140 per liter, instead of JD1.170, it said.
The committee fixed the price of a cooking gas cylinder at JD7.00.
