Ammon News - The Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) organized a workshop on industry and circular economy as part of its participation in a European Union-funded project on green economies.
Manager of Industrial Development Department at ACI, Fadel Allabadi, said in a statement on Thursday that global policies related to climate change and carbon emissions reduction will impose standards and requirements that affect national exports' access to international markets.
The ACI, he noted, will help Jordanian industries to take advantage of the European project's technical assistance, training, and capacity-building programs to help factories transition to a green economy and deal with high production and energy costs.
Allabadi indicated that a national network of public and private sector institutions was established for the project, which will be gradually expanded to the participating Arab and European countries: Italy, Spain, France, Egypt, Tunisia, and Lebanon.
The workshop attendees were briefed on the project's objectives and plans, as well as opportunities for the circular economy in Jordan and national green economy-supportive programs for small and medium-sized businesses.
