Ammon News - The latest data issued by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) indicates an increase in tourism income during November 2022, compared to the corresponding month of last year, by 121.9 million dinars, or by 50.3%, to reach 364.5 million dinars ($514.1 million).
This came as a result of the increase in the number of tourists coming to the Kingdom during the same month by about 148.0 thousand tourists, compared to the same month of last year, to reach 450.7 thousand tourists, which is the highest level reached by the number of tourists during the month of November since 2013.
As for the first 11 months of 2022, tourism income increased by 2,006.7 million dinars, or by 115.0%, to reach 3,751.7 million dinars (5,291.5 million dollars) compared to the corresponding period of 2021. This was due to an increase in the number of tourists coming to Jordan amounted to about 2,486.2 thousand tourists, bringing it to 4,596.1 thousand tourists.
At the same time, the data indicates an increase in spending on tourism outside Jordan during November 2022 by 11.4 million dinars, or 17.2% from its level during the same month of last year, to reach 77.8 million dinars (109.7 million dollars) as a result of the increase in the number of tourists leaving abroad by 17.1%.
Thus, spending on tourism outside Jordan reached 958.1 million dinars ($1,351.3 million) during the first 11 months of 2022, an increase of 60.8% over the corresponding period of 2021, as a result of the increase in the number of tourists leaving abroad.
