Ammon News - The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a measure of inflation, edged up 4.22 percent in January-November 2022, reaching 106.68 points against 102.36 in the corresponding period of 2021.
According to a monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics (DoS) on Tuesday, the biggest drivers of the increase were fuels and lighting, transportation, rents, culture and entertainment, and vegetables and pulses, which each contributed 24.66pct, 5.73pct, 2.38pct, 9.50pct, and 6.57pct, respectively.
Last November, inflation increased by 4.99 to 108.19 points compared to 103.06 points recorded in November 2021, the figures showed.
Fuels and lighting contributed 35.32 percent to the monthly increase, followed by culture and entertainment with 10.52pct, dairy products and eggs with 7.67pct, transportation with 4.63pct, and rents with 4.48pct.
