King inaugurates regular session of Parliament on Sunday

Ammon News - His Majesty King Abdullah II will inaugurate The Second Ordinary session of the Parliament of Jordan next Sunday with a speech from the Throne.
The new Senate will hold a session after the inauguration to elect the first deputy speaker of the council, the second deputy and the assistants to the president. The council also elects a committee to respond to the speech of the throne.
The House of Representatives holds a session immediately after the meeting of the notables to elect the Speaker and members of the permanent office.
The House of Representatives witnessed on Wednesday extensive consultations on the presidential elections, vice presidents and assistants.
Representatives Ahmed Al-Safadi and Firas Al-Ajarmeh announced their candidacy for the position of Speaker of Parliament.
The Democratic Current bloc announced, on Wednesday the nomination of MP Khaled Abu Hassan for the position of the first deputy speaker of the parliament. The bloc also agreed to choose its head, Deputy Ayman al-Majali, as its representative to negotiate with other blocs about the elections for the permanent office and parliamentary committees.
The position of the first deputy speaker of the Council is witnessing strong competition between the candidates, and the competition for the position is contested by representatives (Khaled Abu Hassan, Haitham Ziyadin, Hussein Al Harasis, Ali Al Tarawneh, Abdul Rahim Al Maayeh, Ahmed Al Khalayleh, Suleiman Al Qallab and Omar Al Zayoud).
A number of deputies are expected to run as candidates of the second deputy speaker, namely (Dina Al-Bashir, Wael Razoga, Mayada Shreim, Atta Ibdah, Nassar Al-Haysa and Bilal Al-Momani).
Other members also expected to run as assistants to the president: Rashid Al-Shouha, Ghazi Al-Badawi, Rahaq Al-Zawahra, Rima Al-Amoush, Asma Al-Rawahneh, Abeer Al-Jabour and Ahmed Al-Qatawneh.
