Ammon News - Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel seized 1 million counterfeit dollar bills in the possession of 3 people in the Ramtha district, northern Jordan.

A special CID team was tipped off on a group of people who had large amounts of counterfeit currency and their intention to selling them in markets and to citizens, the Public Security Directorate's (PSD) spokesperson said.

The team, the PSD spokesperson added, followed up on the tip and verified it and was able locate the currency's hiding. Then the team raided the place and three people were arrested.

Searching the place, more than 1 million counterfeit dollars were found, the PSD spokesperson noted.

Investigations were initiated in preparation to refer the three suspects to the court, the PSD spokesperson concluded.
