Ammon News - The Ministry of Culture has announced the start of accepting applications for nominations for the cities that will be selected to be (Jordanian Culture Cities for the year 2023).

This comes in implementation of the instructions of the Jordanian cities of culture; Issued under the Cultural Sponsorship Law No. (36) of 2006 and its amendments, which aim to select Jordanian cultural cities; In order to activate the cultural movement and develop the necessary infrastructure for cultural work.

Here are the details:

Candidacy applications are submitted in the name of the Minister of Culture, through the heads of the decentralization councils in the governorates.

Each council nominates one district, provided that the districts of the governorates and the districts selected by the district are not among the nominated districts.

Districts located in the governorates where there are no districts other than the districts of the districts may collectively apply for candidacy for the Jordanian City of Culture competition.

The file is prepared by representatives of cultural bodies and intellectuals from the people of the district, in full coordination with the Directorate of Culture in the governorate in which the district is located.

Applications will be accepted from Sunday 14/11/2021 until the end of the working day on Thursday 30/12/2021 at the ministry center in Amman - Al-Shaheed Wasfi Al-Tal Street.

The Cultural City Selection Committee will adopt the following criteria, and any additional criteria that the Committee deems as tools for correct measurement in determining the winning cities.
