Ammon News - Jordan is attending a regional simulation-based training on "trafficking in human beings on migration routes", which brings together more than 100 representatives and experts from October 23 to 29.

Authority representatives from Jordan, Algeria, Belgium, Egypt, France, Italy, Lebanon, Libya, Malta, Morocco, Palestine, Portugal, Switzerland, Tunisia, and the United Kingdom are taking part in the seven-day event.

The conference includes simulations of transnational organized crime and victim identification drills carried out for the first time in the region with funding from the European Union and Malta's government, according to a statement by the Council of Europe.

Next year, simulations of other specific scenarios will be held in several state members of the Council of Europe and Southern Mediterranean countries, it said.

Activities also include training journalists on writing human trafficking reports using a human rights-based approach that focuses on victims to enable them to protect personal data by conducting mock interviews to take testimonies. Moreover, the event will follow up on procedures with legal authorities, added the statement.
