Ammon News - China has gifted a couple of giant pandas to the host country of the 2022 World Cup Qatar, and after they arrived in the Qatari capital, Doha, they will bear two Arab names, "Suhail and Soraya".
And China announced last September that it would give two pandas to celebrate the World Cup, which will be held from November 20 to December 18.
Chinese Ambassador to Doha Zhou Jian said that Sohail and Soraya are a gift given by 1.4 billion Chinese to the World Cup in Qatar, and it will certainly become a new symbol of friendship between the two countries, knowing that the Chinese team did not qualify to participate in the 2022 World Cup.
The two bears were named "Suhail" after one of the brightest visible stars in the Gulf region, and "Shuraya", the Arabic name for one of the most famous and brightest star clusters.
