Ministry of Investment: Jordan succeeded in building strong IT sector

Ammon News - The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Investment, Zaher Al-Qatarneh, said that Jordan has great potentials for international companies, based on its message of permanent openness to investment.

During the opening of the activities of the second day of the " Jordan StartUp Expo"; The reforms introduced in the Kingdom's economy and business environment in recent years, especially in the entrepreneurship and information technology sectors, have played a major role in placing Jordan among the top ten in the world in implementing measures to improve the business climate according to the World Bank, Qatarneh added.

He stressed that developing the startup ecosystem is in line with Jordan's vision for economic modernization 2030, as startups will play an important role in developing as a technology center in the Middle East and North Africa.

He pointed out that Jordan has succeeded in building a strong ICT sector by attracting multinational companies over the past two decades, including technology giants such as "Microsoft, Expedia, HP, Cisco and Oracle", in addition to the presence of investment funds, investors, incubators and accelerators, which It constitutes a variety of products and services available to investors.

He referred to the establishment of the Ministry of Investment to be the sole reference for the investor and to enable it to develop the investment environment in line with the best international practices.

The activities of the Jordan StartUp Expo in its first edition began on Wednesday, in the presence of a number of personalities, businessmen, and senior Jordanian, Arab and foreign investors.

The exhibition, organized by the global company "The Future Event", brings together the most innovative and emerging companies to connect them with leading investment companies in the region with investors, accelerators, incubators and technology companies, as the exhibition brings together more than 100 leading companies from Jordan to explore potential technological and software solutions offered by companies Emerging from HR technology, financial technology, e-commerce and others.

The two-day exhibition focuses on 4 main areas of business development, performance, data and information technology, branding and finance.
