11-10-2022 11:09 AM

Ammon News - Energy Minister Saleh Kharabsheh Monday said that Jordan and Germany need to strengthen bilateral cooperation measures in energy to realise the "optimal state."

This came during a joint meeting between Kharabsheh and Environment Minister Muawieh Radaideh with German State Secretary and Special Envoy for International Climate Action at the Federal Foreign Office Jennifer Lee Morgan in Berlin.

Kharabsheh noted the need for concerted efforts with clear steps to find a common option for countries to ensure energy sustainability, reviewing the energy sector's projects and plans in the field of renewable energy and hydrogen.

Radaideh, in turn, talked about the plans and measures taken by Jordan to counter the impact of climate change, noting the importance of bilateral and international cooperation to confront these effects, especially in providing the necessary funding for these initiatives and preparing for the upcoming climate change summit.

For her part, Morgan expressed her admiration for the achievements made in cooperation between Germany and Jordan in various fields to accelerate the energy transition and confront climate change, adding that Germany seeks to work with all countries to confront the effects of climate change.
