11-10-2022 11:06 AM

Ammon News - Jordan's Health Minister Firas Hawari and his Saudi counterpart Fahad Jalajel Monday discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in health and medical care.

During a meeting on the sidelines of their participation in the meetings of the 69th session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Middle East in Cairo, Hawari and Jalajel viewed the strategies that were adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic and the lessons learned from the situation to develop health crisis management mechanisms and respond to challenges in the field of epidemics.

The meeting discussed ideas about the health care and insurance systems used in Jordan and Saudi Arabia and plans to realise a comprehensive and highly efficient health umbrella that would provide insurance and health care for all, as well as the importance of partnership with the private sector in recognition of its role as a partner in achieving comprehensiveness, efficiency and continuity in health care services.

The two ministers agreed to exchange experiences and expertise in health.
