Ammon News - The German government plans to provide 195 million euros to support the Jordanian response plan to the Syrian crisis for the years 2022-2023, according to a statement by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.
This came at the conclusion of the annual Jordanian-German intergovernmental negotiations for development cooperation held in Amman, in which Germany pledged to provide 413.9 million euros to support Jordan for two years.
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Nasser Al-Shraideh, announced during the negotiations that Germany would allocate humanitarian aid for the current year, amounting to 95.5 million euros, to support Jordan in bearing the consequences of Syrian asylum.
He pointed out that topics and projects related to the response to the Syrian crisis were discussed, as the German side informed its Jordanian counterpart that the German government intends to provide approximately 100 million euros in humanitarian aid for 2023 to support Jordan in bearing the consequences of Syrian asylum, and the amount is awaiting the necessary approvals from the relevant German authorities.
Al-Shraideh thanked Germany for the assistance it provided, which contributed to the implementation of a number of priority projects, in addition to additional assistance to meet the needs of the communities hosting Syrian refugees.
