Ammon News - The value of Qatari private sector exports to Jordan during the first nine months of this year registered a growth of 12.1 percent.
Recent data prepared by the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI), stated that the volume of Qatari private sector exports to Jordan from the beginning of this year until the end of last month amounted to about 124 million riyals ($34 million), compared to 110 million of riyals ($30.2 million) during the corresponding period of 2021.
Most of the Qatari private sector exports to Jordan are concentrated on various chemicals, such as automobile oils, sulfonic acid, Lotrene, aluminum briquettes, paraffin, polyethylene, iron rods, chemical fertilizers of various types and uses, plastic bags, automobile engine oils, organic fertilizers, and medical solutions, in addition to many commodities, food and consumer products.
QCCI works to encourage the Qatari private sector to enhance its trade exchanges with the Jordanian market, in a way that contributes to the development of economic, trade and investment relations between the two brotherly countries, especially since the Qatari private sector views the Jordanian market as one of the main markets in the region for its products and exports from various Commodities and products, while Qatar relies on the Jordanian market to meet a large part of its needs of consumer goods, especially food.
The head of QCCI, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, had confirmed in an interview with Petra that the Qatari private sector's exports to Jordan are witnessing significant growth from year to year.
He stressed that there is great interest on the part of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry in encouraging Qatari business owners to increase cooperation with their Jordanian counterparts, urging companies from both sides to enter into effective partnerships and joint projects and to establish trade and economic alliances that benefit the economies of the two brotherly countries.
The number of joint Jordanian-Qatari companies operating from the Qatari market currently exceeds 1,100 companies operating in a variety of activities, most notably general trade, contracting, construction, interior design, maintenance, conference organization, banking, accounting, real estate brokerage, services, education, carpentry, ready-made kitchens, and others, according to QCCI.
There are also about 75 Jordanian companies operating in various fields from the QFC platform.
