AL-Najjar inaugurated Cultural Diversity Festival in Umm Qais

Ammon News - Jordanian Minister of Culture, Haifa Najjar inaugurated on Friday evening the Cultural Diversity Festival organized by Heritage Directorate in Ministry of Culture which comes as part of the activities of Irbid, the Arab Capital of culture in the archeological center of Jadara, Umm Qais.
During her sponsorship of the ceremony, which was attended by Irbid Governor Radwan Al-Atoum, Director of Irbid Antiquities Directorate Ziad Ghunaimat and a number of officials, she said that the festival aims to protect and promote the diversity to cultural expressions and to show the aesthetics of the social fabric that carries diverse cultures in Jordan
She added, "The pillars of our national steadfastness are represented in this diversity, which reflects our Jordanian national narrative, which was manifested in the national fabric and the form of national identity based on the values of pluralism and diversity that the wise Hashemite leadership established.
The exhibition included several sections: the Romanian craft market, which includes traditional handicrafts such as embroideries, sand filling and accessories, straw making, mosaics, seashells, wood and silverware, an exhibition of traditional tools, including old collectibles, an exhibition of traditional costumes, and an exhibition of traditional folk foods and sweets presented by women from associations concerned with Cultural industries in all its forms, and the cultural café, which includes evenings, film shows, puppet theater and shadow puppetry.
The festival also includes exhibitions of photographs, publications and publications of the Ministry of Culture and the Directorate of Heritage.
The festival included an artistic and folkloric concert with the participation of Sawt Al-Urdun, Al-Hanuna Folklore Troupe, Ani Folk Dance Troupe, Sesame Children's Troupe, Chechen and Druze ensembles, and Al-Hajaya Youth Ensemble for Samer.
