Ammon News - The Public Security Department (PSD) apprehended drug traffickers and seized large quantities of Hashish and narcotic pills during its ongoing crackdown on drugs.

In a statement on Tuesday, the PSD's spokesperson said that officers initiated an investigation after a tip-off that smugglers had stashed narcotics in a rugged desert area in the northern Badia. After combing the area, police seized 1,600 blocks of Hashish and nearly one million narcotic pills, arresting one person in the process.

In a separate raid in the southern Badia, officers arrested one of the most dangerous and armed wanted men in relation to drug trafficking cases. A team of investigators gathered information about the wanted man, located his whereabouts and conducted a raid that led to the seizure of seven blocks of Hashish, 4,000 narcotic pills and a firearm that he discharged at officers.
