-09-2022 03:09 PM

Ammon News - The former minister, Dr. Saad Al-Kharabsheh, said that if we are serious about economic and administrative reform, then solutions are clear and known to specialists and the general public.

what follows are some of these solutions that many discuss and others skip according to Kharabsheh:

- Re-integration and attachment of independent bodies and institutions to the parent ministries and the abolition of unnecessary ones.

- Adopting a unified and fair salary scale for all public sector employees without exceptions.

- Setting a higher limit for the salaries and remunerations of the general managers of government institutions, chairmen, and members of the boards of directors of public shareholding companies and government companies or in which the government participates, to a limit that the salary does not exceed the salary of the working minister.

- Determining a higher ceiling for the salaries of the heads of boards of directors of commercial banks and their general managers, as the funds of those banks are belong to depositors and public funds.

- Rationalizing the extravagance of government spending, where the Jordanian citizens are not concerned with the necessity of spending and buying luxury cars for senior officials and their families. And to recognize that we are a poor country that lives on aid and unfair tax revenues borne by the citizens.

- Rationing official visits and external unnecessary trips to the minimum necessary.

- Encouraging Jordanian capital owners to invest in Jordan and granting incentives to non-Jordanians and protecting them from brokers and opportunity traders to persuade them to invest in Jordan.

- Supporting and reforming public sector institutions for health and education, which began to sag during the last era.

- Reducing unfair taxes on citizens to improve their living conditions and tackle economic stagnation.

- Focusing the attention and attention of officials on the internal concerns of the country before any other concern.

- Activating and supporting the role of the supervisory institutions concerned with preserving public funds, combating corruption and not interfering with their work.

- Adoption of a code of ethics by those in charge of managing state institutions that prevents nepotism, favoritism and interference in the appointment of government jobs, and that the only criterion for the incumbent is competence, apart from any other consideration.
