Ammon News - The Industrial Producers' Prices Index picked by 16.26 percent in the January-June period of 2022, amounting to 139.79 points against 120.24 in the same period of 2021.
According to the Department of Statistics monthly report issued Sunday, the increase was mainly driven by transformative and extractive Industries going up by 17.48 and 20.80 percent, respectively, while electricity prices index decreased by 5.43 percent.
In June 2022, the index reached 146.02 points compared to 123.53 in the same month of last year, signaling a rise of 18.21 percent, figures showed.
The report showed that transformative industries significantly contributed to the monthly increase with 19.67 percent and extractive industries with 25.94 percent. Still, a reduction of 10.08 percent was registered in electricity prices index.
