The RSCN, through the Egyptian Vulture project funded by the EU, began purchasing materials to isolate 250 utility poles in Ekidar District, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Next Tuesday, Irbid Electricity Company will cause a power cut to install insulation materials in the Ekidar prior to the beginning of the autumn migration season. Isolation will contribute to saving large numbers of white storks in Ekidar. Electrocution poses a serious threat to a number of bird species, especially storks and birds that build their nests on utility poles.
