Ammon News - A bazaar showcasing products and goods made by local women under a European Union-funded project was opened on Sunday in a central Amman neighborhood.

The bazaar, which is part of the "My Right to Work 2" project, is housed in Souk Jara, a major tourist-oriented market in Jabal Amman.

The Social Development Society is organizing the fair in collaboration with the Essad Charity for Development, the Al-Nashmiyat Charitable Association, and the Greater Amman Municipality.

Expertise France is implementing the "My Right to Work" project in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development as part of the European Union-funded "Support to Social Protection in Jordan" program.

Through free training on toy and children's supply production at the ministry's headquarters, the project is intended to provide income sources for a number of local community women, 10 percent of whom have disabilities.

The project is a continuation of "My Right to Work 1," which the ministry implemented with a grant from the EuroMed Feminist Initiative, supported by the EU "Madad Fund," to empower women financially.
