Central bank raises interest rates by 75 basis points

Ammon News - The central bank on Thursday raised the main interest rates by 75 basis points in line with the regional and international monetary markets' interest rates changes, the bank said.

The move will take effect on Sunday 31/07/2022

The Central Bank of Jordan open market operations committee decision was taken to address the anticipated inflation pressures amid the rising global inflation rates

The central bank of Jordan decided to keep the refinancing programmes’ interest rates unchanged to stand at 1 per cent for projects located in Amman and 0.5 per cent for projects located in other governorates, according to the bank.
