Ammon News - The General Industrial Production Quantities index in the first five months of 2022 picked up by 5.12 percent, reaching 91.78 points against 87.31 recorded in the same period of 2021.
The Department of Statistics (DoS) said in its monthly report released Tuesday that the growth was driven by the rise in the production quantities of the transformative industries index by 3.79 points, with a relative importance of 86.01 percent, extractive industries by 0.73 points, with a relative importance of 8.22 percent, and electricity production index by 0.59 points, with a relative importance of 5.76 percent.
The index rose 3.96 percent to 95.63 points in May 2022, up from 91.99 in May 2021, according to the report.
Similarly, the index reached 95.63 points in May 2022, up from 92.47 points in April of the same year, indicating a 3.43 percent increase.
