Ammon News - The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) on Thursday condemned an attack in the Dohuk governorate in Iraq, which killed nine tourists, including three children, and wounded 23 others.
UNICEF Representative in Iraq Sheema SenGupta said in a statement that "At least three children were killed and several wounded in Zakho, northern Iraq. This is devastating proof of the need to stop the use of explosive weapons in populated areas."
"All children in Iraq deserve to live their lives without the constant threat of violence exacerbated by the use of explosive weapons. UNICEF calls on all parties to fulfill their obligations to protect children at all times and without delay," the statement added.
