Phosphate company discusses establishing joint factories with Indonesia to produce Dab, NPK fertilizers

Ammon News - Chairman of the Board of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company, Mohammad Thneibat, on Wednesday met with delegations from Indonesian companies (Petro Kimia Gresk / PKG) and (PT Pupuk Indonesia) to discuss cooperation in establishing joint projects in Jordan for the production of phosphate fertilizers.

The Indonesian delegations' visit to the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company came as a continuation of the discussions held earlier by Thneibat with the Indonesian Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, on the sidelines of the annual conference of the International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA), which was held in Vienna on May.

Today's discussions witnessed a consensus between the two sides to continue enhancing opportunities for long-term joint cooperation and finding strategic partnerships in the field of phosphate fertilizer industry in Jordan to establish joint factories to produce 500,000 tons of Dab and NPK fertilizers, to meet the Indonesian market's needs.

The meeting also discussed the necessary procedures to start setting the legal and technical framework for the partnership between the two sides, leading to the start of establishing joint factories in Aqaba.

Thneibat stressed the company's keenness to find strategic partnerships with international companies specialized in the production and export of phosphate and phosphate fertilizers, lauding the Jordanian-Indonesian experience in this field.

Thneibat highlighted the company's key achievements in the past few years in terms of production and export, and its position in the global phosphate market.

He said that the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company has recently signed several cooperation agreements and built new partnerships, thus enhancing its competitive position in global markets.

For her part, PKG's Director of Operations and Production, Digna Jatiningsih, stressed the importance of the partnership with the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company, which will benefit both sides, especially with regard to meeting the Indonesian market's needs of Jordanian phosphate fertilizers.

The delegations commended the advanced level of the Jordanian phosphate industry, and the company's openness to international cooperation in this field.

The Indonesian delegation's visit to Jordan includes a visit to the work sites of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company to check on the production processes and its various stages.
