Ammon News - The value of certificates of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) to export goods in the first half of 2022 reached JD424 million compared with JD310 million in the same period of 2021, according to a statement by the ACC on Sunday.
The ACC issued 28,999 certificates of origin in the first nine months of 2021, a 15.8-percent increase from 25,036 certificates issued in the corresponding period of 2020.
The ACC issued 14,908 certificates of origin in the January-June period of 2022 compared with 15,632 in the first six months of the last year, the chamber’s figures showed.
The ACC noted that a total of 3,419 certificates were issued for shipments exported to Saudi Arabia, followed by the United Arab Emirates (1,971), Iraq (659), Egypt (454), and India (85).
The majority of exports in the January-June period of this year went to Iraq, which accounted for JD97 million, followed by Egypt (JD62), Saudi Arabia (JD43 million), the UAE (JD41 million), and India (JD27 million).
Furthermore, the value of re-exports (exports of foreign products) stood at JD191 million in the first six months of the current year, while the value of industrial exports amounted to JD119 million, JD65 million for agricultural exports, and JD29 million for Arab products.
