Ammon News - UNICEF Regional Director the Middle East and North Africa, Adele Khodr, lauded the government's approval of the draft Child Rights Law for 2022, which Khodr viewed as a milestone and reflects "distinguished" Jordanian efforts to provide childhood-related care.
Speaking at her visit to National Council for Family Affairs (NCFA) on Wednesday, Khodr commended NCFA's role and activities aimed to strengthen Jordan's protection network from domestic violence, in a way that contributes to advancing the family and society as a whole.
In this regard, she referred to NCFA's step to pick the Kingdom's representative in the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children.
Khodr also praised the NCFA's "systematic" coordination with institutions concerned with family affairs to make recommendations, which would develop related policies and legislation that serve the family.
In addition, she pointed to to the NCFA's programs implemented, in cooperation with stakeholders to raise worker efficiency in competent institutions, to identify mechanisms and procedures used in addressing violence cases.
